The fuel prices are not in the reach of a common man. The mass transport system might become imminent if the fuel rates continue to rise.

Earlier this mass transport system was introduced to reduce pollution but now it has to be done to save money.

Using mass transport is one way of beating the petrol rates and saving money which is being called car pooling.

Price of petrol crossed the Rs 100 per litre mark in Rajasthan after fuel rates were hiked for the ninth day in a row.

while global rates have rebounded with pick up in demand, the government has not restored the taxes, which are at a record high. Central and state taxes make up for 60 per cent of the retail selling price of petrol and over 54 per cent of diesel.

The states have to reduce the taxes in case they want to provide the fuel at a lesser cost to their citizens. But no Government is in a mood to cut the taxes as the coffers are empty due to Corona.

In fact some governments have recovered from the red with the help of the taxes levied on the fuels. Telangana Government is one of them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi blamed the past governments for not adopting proper strategies to reduce the import of fuels.

He said that the Government was trying to use Ethanol in place of the regular fuels to reduce the import.

This could bring down the rates in the near future and also reduce the imports he opined. Usually Governments used to rise the prices during the budget. Now the BJP Government has changed the strategy and they are rising the rates after the Budget presentation.
