There is a general talk in the audience that Puri Jagannath could have a rehash of Amma Nanna Tamil Ammayi in the name of Liger. Vijay reminded that the ANTA movie was made with a boxing theme and Liger is with MMA which is mixed martial arts.
Liger Vijay explained “First of all, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi is one of my favourite films. If at all it had to be remade, everything should fall into place in perfection.
But I can assure you that I’m not the guy who would do remakes. I wouldn’t do anything even remotely close to a remake,” Vijay said. Vijay adds that Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi is based on the sport of boxing but Liger doesn’t even have the boxing angle and it is based on mixed martial arts.
Vijay’s response is indeed a strong counter to those spreading rumours that Liger is a remake of Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. Puri also earlier clarified that both movies have mother characters who encourage the sons to be good fighters.
The movie is getting a good response with the trailers. It is getting released on twenty-fifth and we have to see how the audience will respond to it.
It is being released on a Pan India basis.
