TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy visited the child Kaushik who survived the recent leopard attack and undergoing treatment in a TTD-run hospital in Tirupati.
A three-year-old child, Chi. Kaushik from Adoni in Kurnool district was treated at Sri Padmavati Children’s Hospital after he suffered injuries on Thursday night following a leopard attack on the Alipiri footpath near the seventh mile.
Speaking after his interaction with the injured boy at the hospital TTD chairman said TTD will immediately take up fencing of the Alipiri and Srivari Mettu footpaths on both sides to ensure such incidents do not occur again.
TTD Eo said that they have decided to send 200 devotees together in a team after 7 pm on the footpath with security guards on the track and devotees advised to chant Govinda Nama, he added.
Dharma Reddy also appealed to the devotees to be vigilant and to keep the children in the middle of their walk on the footpath.
The TTD EO said all-out plans were made to capture the cat and camera traps were installed to track their movements. Henceforth devotees will be allowed to climb Tirumala up to 6 pm on the Srivari Mettu Footpath and up to 10 pm on the Alipiri footpath.
The security options for two-wheeler travelers on ghat roads after 6 pm in the evenings is being debated, he added.
