Big superstars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan who started political parties so far have not made a statement about the water problem in Chennai. But a film star from Hollywood Leonardo Dicaprio posted about the severe water shortage in Chennai.
He posted that people are waiting for the tankers to arrive with water. Hotels and restaurants were being closed due to water shortage.
He said that the water shortage is alarming here in Chennai. Only rains can save the Chennai people he opined. The Government must find other sources and means to tap the water to quench the thirst of people here he suggested.
Both the centre and state knew about the water crisis but so far nothing has been done. Earlier the Chennai people suffered from flood problem and now they have this water problem.
The so-called heroes like Vishal who come out during the floods and other problems are yet to respond over the water crisis in Chennai.Let’s hope the Jalshakthi mantralaya would deal with the matter.
It is the water resources ministry that must deal with the water problem in Chennai. Let’s hope they would deal with the matter in coordination with the State Government.
Not only Chennai but even in other states, the groundwater levels are depleting and the governments are struggling to find water for the people here in the states. The delay in monsoon also added to the present water crisis.
