Ms Shilpavally, Explaining about Safety Club thanked all the schools principals having attended the session today on the launch of safety clubs. She has explained about the vision & objectives of the Safety clubs. She said there would be 4 pillars Physical safety, cyber safety, anti drug abuse & Mental health – under each pillar there would be a safety club convener – One Teacher of Balamitra – heading each vertical and there would be monthly activities to spread this around. Latter all school principals to take Safety Pledge”.
Ms Anuradha, Principal & founder of Sanghamitra school said “ When I was a child, my first safety lessons came from my mother. Today, a child at 2 ½ years is getting admitted to the schools. Everything is forced in to child’s head and we are not allowing them to learn. I never expected a day would come when we need to invite police to teach them on safety – as most of the parents are not involving themselves fully. I appreciate the concept of Safety Clubs and appreciate the police & SCSC who have come forward to launch this initiative”.
Mr Krishna Yedula said “ Safety club is another initiative of Cyberabad Police & SCSC .
Speaking on the occasion Commissioner of Cyberabad Stephen Raveendra said “ It is very important that schools and police should involve the school children in the whole initiative very actively, listen to them and not to treat them as child and assume that they don’t know much. Listen to them, take their feedback and make it very resilient movement. We should involve them at every stage. He said we should allow the children to report of any incident – not the parents or teachers – because the feedback what we would get from them is unfiltered and frank. Child should be the centre of these safety clubs. Now, I invite the children to visit our police stations and experience the change at the police stations”.
Mr Raju, General Manager of TCS said “ that it’s an honour for TCS having hosted this event and welcome all the school principals and head masters coming to our TCS Campus. This Safety Club is a very good initiative and whatever way TCS can help, we are open for the same”.
