The new board members of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam have decided that they will have to improve the quality of the Srivari Laddu. After Lord Balajis Darshan it is the Laddu prasadam that is considered as auspicious and must.

Distributing Laddu is also a regular feature with the pilgrims coming to the TTD. Ilaichi that is cardamom and cashew nuts are the main ingredients that go into this laddu. Kismiss is also sprinkled here and there.

Now the board has decided that they would take better quality cashews from Kerala. The cashew is from Kollam it is reported. The sourcing is being done directly from the corporations so that the quality is good and the purchase is authentic where we can save some money to the board.

The Laddu Prasadam has a history of 302 years. Since then the Laddu has undergone several changes but remained as Prasadam. You may not get the Lord’s darshan but people will be happy if you can provide them with the popular laddu.

About 50000 pilgrims come to the Lord Balaji on daily basis and on an average the TTD has to supply around 2 to 4 lakh Laddus per day.

Now that the TTD has decided to do away with the plastic bags, and they have decided to introduce jute bags which are biodegradable.

Darshan and Laddu of the Lord go hand in hand. Apart from the packaging and delivery, the quality of the Laddu has to be improved. Now it is mixed with sugar granules. Earlier the Aroma of Laddu used to reach the entire surroundings when you carry it.

Now the quality has gone down. The Laddus are made with minimum automation.

They are prepared at the Srivari Potu that is the kitchen. More automation can be introduced so that they are untouched by hands and come out in the packed form.
