Minister for IT K Taraka Rama Rao has been invited by the World Economic Forum to take part in its annual meeting scheduled to be held in China from June 27 to 29. He will be making a presentation on the welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana.
The forum is expected to see about 2,000 members participating from across the world. They include researchers working to usher in fourth industrial revolution, policy makers and businessmen. The event will also be attended by science and technology, innovation, electronics and communications and IT Ministers.
The forum has asked KTR to speak on the efforts being made to make Hyderabad a startup capital, implementation of water and broadband grid under the Mission Bhagiratha.The annual event will also be a platform to attract investments to Telangana, the forum members informed.
On the other hand the industry body Confederation of Indian Industry has invited Rao to its annual session with the theme ‘Future Globalisation- Can India Lead?’
The Confederation of Indian Industry said the event is being held in the backdrop of demonetisation, digitalisation, Make in India, GST and other decisions that impact the economy. The event will give a direction to economy. This would be held on April 28 and 29 at New Delhi. KTR has been asked to speak on ‘Is India Inc future-ready? Jobs and Technology’.
