A group of 30 immigrants from Telangana, who have returned to the homeland by availing the amnesty scheme, were received by NRI Affairs Minister KT Rama Rao. This is the third such group which has returned to Hyderabad in the last few days.
Minister Rama Rao interacted with the gulf returnees at the Hyderabad Airport and enquired about the problems they had faced while they were in UAE.
The migrant workers thanked the Telangana government for coming to their rescue. They also informed the minister that a few migrants were still stuck in UAE, as they had some penalties to clear. Minister KTR assured that the state government will bring all of them back by clearing the penalties.
Minister Rama Rao also stated that the Telangana state government will provide complete assistance to those wishing to avail the amnesty scheme, including arranging the flight tickets and clearance of penalties if any.
Minister also assured them that govt would provide them skill development through National Academy of Construction (NAC) and help provide an alternative livelihood.
Earlier, the state government had sent an official delegation to UAE to bring back the amnesty seekers safely to the State. The delegation visited the United Arab Emirates to assess the conditions of these workers who wish to return home under the ongoing amnesty scheme.
The delegation identified the workers and helped them return to Telangana after completing the due formalities. Minister instructed the state protocol authorities to provide the workers with transportation from the airport to their respective native places.
Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy, Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, MLC Shambipur Raju, MLA Puvvada Ajay, TRS NRI Affairs Coordinator Mahesh Bigala were among dignitaries who accompanied Minister KT Rama Rao to the Airport.
