On the eve of death anniversary of late Sri K.S.Vyas, IPS, the 21st Memorial Lecture is organized at Telangana State Police Academy, Hyderabad .senior Police officers paid homage to the late K.S. Vyas, IPS by lighting the lamp and observing two minutes silence.

K. Srinivasa Reddy, IPS, Director, TSPA in his inaugural address stated that “You should read history and look at ostracism, persecution, martyrdom…, They always happen to the best men”. Sri Vyas had remarkable ability towards putting down naxal menace and an institution builder like Greyhounds which many states have strived to replicate. He made mark in every field wherever he worked and inspired thousands of youth and hundreds of Police men.

Anurag Sharma, IPS, DGP, TS remembered K.S. Vyas while he was probationer and Vyas was SP, Vijayawada (Urban). He got rid of factions and goondas and as DCP, Traffic, Hyderabad City, he ensured that lane discipline was maintained and helmets were used. He expressed his gratitude to the vision of Vyas, who created Greyhounds, an elite force with no ranks, same privileges and high levels of discipline.

Aruna Vyas reminiscing about Vyas, said that he was very firm in implementation of certain traffic rules as DCP,Traffic,Hyderabad,which attracted negative media attention but never compromised in his duties and he used to lead by example. She reminded that “Dharmo Rakshati Rakshithaha” and police should respect citizens and uphold Dharma in the society.

K.R. Nandan, IPS, (Rtd) and Chief Guest of the function said that Sri Vyas was full of magnetism, cheerfulness, competence and achieved more in less time than many people did all their lives. He was meticulous in planning and swift in execution. To sum him up in one word, Sri Vyas was ALIVE in every aspect.

Nandan spoke about every culture which has normative frame work which is intrinsic to its culture. He made a comparative study of Japanese, American and Indian culture. The Japanese Companies laid more emphasis on the group, American Companies made more emphasis on individual.

The Indian concept of Dharma, defined as “Appropriateness of thought word and deed in a given context”, encompasses all situations, all times and all features. The two facets of Dharma are Dharma and Karma. Karma is the circuit of forces that can be closed by the reaction that it generates.

we write our destiny through the process of Karma. Hence, both the individual and group are equally important in the concept of Dharma and Karma. He gave a value frame work that every individual should be respected and we should do our best. Maintain ethico-moral soundness, self-discipline, creativity, customer satisfaction, inspiration to give than to grab and renunciation.
