Koppula congratulates tribal welfare institutions

Minister for Welfare Koppula Eshwar congratulated social and tribal welfare residential institutions students who secured top ranks in NEET, Indian Maritime University, Law CET at a felicitation ceremony held at Tribal Welfare IIT Study Centre, Rajendra Nagar.

The minister expressed happiness over the fact that poorest of the poor students had secured top ranks in prestigious national level NEET and Indian Maritime University entrance exams. It’s a matter of pride that the total number of seats in medicine increased from 12 in 2012 to 150 in 2019, a remarkable achievement by any standard.

This was made possible with the vision of the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in fulfilling the dreams of poor students under the KG-PG Mission. No government educational institution in the country could produce these many medical seats. Telangana social and tribal welfare residential institutions stand out as role model institutions in the country, the minister said.

He congratulated Dr RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary and teachers for their dedication and sacrifice in bringing about much-needed transformation in the lives of deprived students through imparting long-term NEET and IIT coaching and quality education on par with the corporate institutions. He assured that the government of Telangana would support medical and engineering students in pursuing their studies successfully.

The minister felicitated Shresta of social welfare residential educational society who secured all India first rank in Indian Maritime University (Chennai) entrance exam and other toppers in NEET.

Dr RS Praveen Kumar said that with the support of the government of Telangana, social and tribal residential students have been bagging top ranks. He said that the students of social welfare institutions students secured all India 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 15th and 17th ranks in an entrance exam conducted by the Indian Maritime Central University. Shresta secured all India first rank. Out of 100 seats available in BBA undergraduate program, social welfare students secured 51 seats, a golden lettered moment in the history of TSWREIS, the secretary claimed.
