The mortal remains of the former Speaker Kodela Sivprasad were consigned to flames here at the cremation grounds of Narasraopet. His son Sivram performed teh final rites here.
TDP chief Chandrababu, MLA Balakrishna, MLC Lokesh, MPs Galla Jaydev and Nani walked all the way of 4 kilometres along with the procession of Kodela Siva Prasad to the cremation grounds.
The public came in large numbers and the crowds shouted the slogans Palnati Puli in honour of Kodela Siva Prasad Rao. The Procession was diverted in some areas as the YSRC MLAs houses were located here.
This was to avoid unnecessary Hungama there at the MLAs houses. TDP President Kala Venkat Rao was also there during the cremation. TDP leaders Karanam Balram, Nannapaneni Rajkumar and others were present here.
The media had a tough time covering the event as everyone was covering the body of the departed soul. Some Muslim friends of Kodela offered Namaj before the cremation.
