Kishan Reddy is the old guard

Like PM Modi, Kishan Reddy the new BJP chief is also a Chaiwala. Not that he sold Tea like our Prime Minister. But he was the man who was at the helm of affairs at the 5B old MLA quarters.

He used to organize tea for the media people during the press meets. If you go early he was seen in a towel at the same MLA quarters where he used to sleep along with Bandraru Dattatreya.

They had a landline in place to take calls from Delhi. With the blessings of Venkaiah Naidu, Modi, and Shah along with his hard work, Kishan rose to the level of Union Minister.

Winning or losing Telangana is not the issue, holding the flock together is the main job for Kishan Reddy now. Kishan is a great organizer and has been with the party for decades.

Kishan Reddy is close to Laxman, Dattatreya, and Venkaiah here from the Telugu states and has the experience of traveling with Modi and also staying in the house of Amit Shah.

In Telangana, the change in leadership arises after a prolonged dissent, predominantly led by ex-BRS leader and former minister Etala Rajendar — who had joined the saffron party in duress and was supported by a group of leaders — sought the removal of Bandi Sanjay Kumar from the state party chief post.

“There is a clear indication of surrender. An aggressive leader like Bandi Sanjay has been sidelined to accommodate Rajendar’s demands and to bring in Kishan Reddy. This is a clear signal that the party will go soft on the BRS. It is clearly an advantage for KCR.

“Kishan Reddy is a BJP loyalist but he’s neither aggressive nor confrontational. At best, at this stage, he can carry everyone along. The structure is clear. Kishan Reddy is the president of the BJP state unit and the boss. Everyone, including Etela Rajendar.

“If any party replaces an aggressive tiger like Bandi Sanjay and gets a soft-spoken leader like Kishan Reddy, it proves Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the BRS is the BJP’s B-team. Now the BJP has clearly given up the fight in Telangana.

After the Karnataka disaster, the BJP is ready to lose some states and wants to come to power at the National level. They want MP seats, not the Assembly seats.
