Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is all set to unfurl the National flag from the historic 1,000-year-old Golconda Fort to mark Independence Day on 15nth.
KCR, who has been seeking to do things differently after he became the first Chief Minister of Telangana State had considered several venues for the ceremony. He ultimately zeroed in on the Golconda Fort, which can be seen as a cultural statement.
CS is personally looking into the arrangements for Independence day here at the Golkonda. It will be done following the Covid rules and regulations.
As a fort initially constructed by the famed Kakatiyas who ruled from Warangal , Golconda has been a torchbearer to the linkages to the cultural ethos of the Telangana region.Director General of Police, Anjani Kumar reviewed the arrangements for Independence Day celebrations at the historic Golconda Fort on August 15.
During the review, officials from various line departments were told to ensure all arrangements were in place for the smooth conduct of the event. Hyderabad Police Commissioner, CV Anand -Additional DG, Swati Lakra and other officials participated in the meeting.
A total of 14 screens would be installed at the venue and the HMWSSB would be making arrangements for drinking water. Four ambulances would be available for emergencies in the premises.
Traffic restrictions will be in place in and around the Golconda Fort on Tuesday, for the 77th Independence Day celebrations by the State government. The celebrations will be organised on the Rani Mahal lawns of the Fort between 7 a.m. and 12 noon.
