Chief Minister has instructed the cabinet subcommittee to meet on Wednesday and do necessary exercise for filing a petition in Supreme Court. The Chief Minister suggested that the additional advocate general, as well as all concerned officers, are also to be invited to the cabinet sub-committee meeting and discuss thoroughly the pro’s and con’s of the issue and finalize the strategy to present the argument in the court and the necessity to implement 61%reservation in Telangana Panchayat Raj Institutions.

Chief Minister criticized that the Congress party filed the petition through its party sarpanch Swapna Reddy opposing the 34% reservation for backward classes and thus obstructing reservation for them.

The Chief Minister made it clear that the state government is fully committed to providing 34% reservation to Backward Classes and the necessary legal battle will be fought to achieve this.
