Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to move into his new official residence at Begumpet here tomorrow.The muhurat is 5.22 am it is reported.
The event would be a low key affair, official sources said.
Though there was no official word in this regard, media reports said the sprawling new residence, with state-of-the-art facilities, has come up over one lakh square feet space.
The reports said that due to security reasons, “bullet-proof” bathrooms have been constructed in the house.
A government statement had earlier said the new residence had been planned as the Chief Minister’s camp office and residence did not have adequate facilities for parking and holding large meetings.
As per the requirements of the CM KCR , 9-acre land in Punjagutta was zeroed in and the construction of a new building began four months ago and is now complete for occupation.
As per latest reports, 99 per cent of the construction work has been completed as the CM instructed to complete the work on war footing basus . A residential building for the CM is being built in 1 acre area.
A few more buildings like auditorium, conference hall, quarters for the CM’s security staff and a parking facility for over 300 vehicles will occupy the remaining eight acres. The total cost of this residence was earlier estimated to be Rs 35 Cr and it could increase by a few more crores.
It has to be seen who will be occupying the old camp office when the CM shirts into the new premises.
KCRs house has been built by the Shapoorji Pallonji, the real estate major that’s owned by the family of Cyrus Mistry, currently locked in an epic feud with Ratan Tata.
The new house comes with a theatre that can accommodate 250 people and double up as an auditorium, homes for some senior government officials, a massive conference hall, and a mini-secretariat which will include some government offices. Parking space , Yes, 300.
So far, KCR, 62, has been living right behind the new building, in a much smaller home.
Every aspect of the palatial new house has been determined by experts in Vaastu or feng shui. He decided to build the new complex because the existing headquarters for the government and his home were reportedly poor on Vaastu.
KCR’s family owns another house in the city, one in their hometown and also a farmhouse nearly 60 km from Hyderabad.
