Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao released the book, “Vriksha Vedam” published by the Green India Challenge on the occasion of TRS MP Sri J Santosh Kumar’s birthday at Pragathi Bhavan here on Monday. The book, written by Sri Mamidi Harikrishna and edited by Sri Desapathy Srinivas, has the shlokas highlighting the importance of trees; forests as depicted in the Indian Literature and beautiful photographs show casing the beauty of the forests.
The CM congratulated Sri Santosh Kumar for compiling the book. The CM said we have a rich culture, which treats trees as Gods. He said with the continuing efforts of the Telangana government the dream of Haritha Telangana is being achieved. Agriculture Minister Sri S Niranjan Reddy, MLC Sri Goreti Venkanna, OSD Sri Deshapathy Srinivas, Cultural, Director Sri Mamidi Harikrishna, Noted young director Sri Purnachander Badavath, Green India Challenge Vice President Sri Raghava and others participated.
