Telangana Chief Minister KCR who was planning for an alternative to the BJP at the national level was not surprised with the election results of the five states. He was the one who predicted that the BJP will come to power with a reduced majority.
The latest is that Kejriwal is being projected as the alternative to BJP and Modi. The BJP is making inroads in the state of Telangana in a big way.
There is every chance that like-minded people will be united against Modi under Kejriwal in the coming.
The war of words between TRS and BJP leaders for the last couple of months is also likely to intensify now. KCR has been launching bitter attacks on BJP.
TRS leaders have been trying to highlight what they call a betrayal of Telangana by BJP by going back on the promises made to the state in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
KTR and other leaders are losing no opportunity to target BJP over its failure to help Telangana in the last eight years.
The election results in four out of five states will certainly enthuse BJP ranks in Telangana and may tilt a small percentage of fence-sitters.
Now that KCR is indisposed, TRS may take a few days more to chalk out the next step. But TRS can’t go soft on aggressive BJP leadership, more so after these results.
The political battle in the state may sharpen, further. We have to see if KCR would accept the leadership of Kejriwal or not.
