TS Power Utilities have met record demand for this year i.e. 14017 MW today (on 30.12.2022) during the start of Yasangi Season itself in view of increase of ground water level and optimum utilization of power by farming community.
It is pertinent to note that, peak demand of 14160 MW was met during previous Rabi Season in the month of March,2022 (on 29.03.2022). Now, the power demand has crossed 14000 MW during the month of December itself (as compared to 10,935 MW in the month of December of previous year 2021).
While appreciating the good work of power sector, Honble Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrasekhar Rao Garu directed Chairman & Managing Director, TSTRANSCO & TSGENCO to gear up the power utilities to meet the expected demand of 15,500 MW during the peak Yasangi season during March,2023, due to higher ground water levels and wide spread cultivation in the state.
In view of huge increase in demand, Sri D. Prabhakar Rao, CMD/TSTRANSCO & TSGENCO informed that, every effort is being put up by Power Utilities for providing adequate and reliable power to farming sector throughout the state. Further, it is noticed that, some of the farmers are utilizing auto starters even when power requirement is not there. Hence, it is appealed to farming community not to utilize the Auto starters when not needed, to avoid wastage of water and to save precious energy.
In this regard, Distribution Engineers, are instructed to continuously monitor and provide reliable power supply to farmers and also to ensure the non-utilization of Auto starters when not required, for efficient utilization of water and power by entire farming community.
