The state government is gearing up to mark the tenth State Formation Day with a 21-day festival to start with KCR the CM from the new Secretariat.
The Union minister for Tourism G. Kishan Reddy said that the Centre, for the first time, would hold celebrations to mark the occasion at the Golconda Fort on June 2 in Hyderabad.
Kishan Reddy is making all-out efforts on to have Union Minister Amit Shah attend the event on June second. Kishan Reddy said the National Flag would be unfurled at the event in the morning and a parade by contingents of the security forces will be done.
In the evening, cultural programmes will be organised at the fort, he said. This is nothing but to show the people that the BJP is keen on the celebrations.
Earlier the Centre had commemorated Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17 at the Parade Ground, with Union Minister Amit Shah as the chief guest.
The BJP had been for long complaining that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao who promised to observe Hyderabad Liberation Day had never done so.
We have to see how far the BJP will be able to attract the people’s attention.
