The mortal remains of Karunanidhi the Kalaignar were brought to the Marina beach amidst the slogans and chantings of his followers and fans. A sea of humanity walked with his gun carriage to the burial at the Marina beach and a host of VVIPs were seen during the cremation. The police band was seen playing the tunes and body was brought to the cremation on Marina near Annadurai and Jayas memorials with full state honours.
His son Stalin and others were seen walking in front of the gun carriage vehicle. Jawans from the armed forces carried the box of Karunanidhi with mortal remains. Rahul Gandhi the Congres chief, Chandrababu the TDP chief and a host of other VIPs were seen in the front two with the cameras zooming on them on and off.
Ghulamnabhi Azad was seen in a pensive mood. Most of them at the marina beach were filled with tears in their eyes and watched the proceedings as they unfolded. Karunanidhi was given a gun salute and then was cremated. He was cremated with his black stylish goggles on his eyes. The tri-color was removed from Karunanidhi and handed over to Stalin.
Many VIPs paid their last respects even before the cremation. The wreaths were placed and removed one after the other. The cremation was completed when all of them stood in silence and the police gave a gun salute.
