Kanti Velugu is a big success

New lights are coming in people's lives through Kanti Velugu program in the
state. People across the state are taking advantage of the Kanti Velugu camps
started by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri K. Chandrasekhar Rao to remove
the problems of those suffering from eye problems.

People are happy to organize Kanti Velugu camps in rural areas without the
need to go to cities, towns and hospitals to get eye tests done. The Kanti Velugu
camps being organized in the districts are getting a great response from people of
all walks of life, from young men and women to the elderly. They are coming to
eye camps and undergoing eye tests regardless of age. Public representatives and
officials are playing an active role in the management of eye light camps and are
working for the success of the camp by providing advance awareness so that
people can reach the eye light camps on time.

People are celebrating as the eye examination program has become a boon
for those who are afraid of the cost of conducting eye examinations, are aware or
do not undergo examinations and provide glasses to the needy by conducting free
eye examinations without spending a single rupee.

So far, 53 lakh 85 thousand 071 people have been examined by 1500
medical teams across the state. 9 lakh 93 thousand 461 people were given
reading glasses. 6 lakh 93 thousand 644 people have ordered for prescription
glasses. 25 working days spent on KV’s which is a new record in the history of the
state. The Government has started a massive program which has not been
undertaken by any state in the country so far.

As per instructions of the Government special camps are being organized
for employees, journalists, policemen, lawyers and people from different
communities with the buffer teams in the districts and eye tests are being
conducted.

People's response in Peddapally District Kanti Velugu Camps….. in
their own words….Kalashikam Anita, who came to the Kanti Velugu camp set up in the premises of
Srivani Degree and PG College in Sultanabad mandal center of Pedpadalli district,
expressed her opinion…

I am 40 years old and eyesight is not clear, so when visited KV camp, underwent
tests, where the doctor tested her eyes for distance and near vision and said that
her near vision has decreased. She said that the Kanti Velugu program undertaken
by the government is very useful for people like us.

Shohan Begum said that she was 56 years old, did not know about eye tests and
was afraid of spending thousands of rupees if she went for medical tests. we are
very happy to organize eye camps in the areas where we are and provide free eye
examinations to all, spectacles and medicines.

Mattela Komuravelli from Garrepalli said that due to the pressure of their daily
work, they had to go to the town for eye tests and in case they don't have time to
go, the government has set up eye camps in rural areas. It is very useful for
people like me. He expressed happiness that he can see clearly now. Many people
are expressing their happiness for bringing the Kanti Velugu program, paying
special attention to the health of the people.
