Kalyan is the grandson of popular writer Kosaraju the legend of the Telugu film industry. Kalyan became popular with a song in Ala Vaikuntauramulo for Trivikram Srinivas.
He wrote the title song for Ala Vaikuntapuramulo. He also wrote songs for Acharya and Akhanda. Now he is one of the upcoming writers of Tollywood who is giving good literature.
Kalyan was first encouraged by Boyapati Srinivas the popular writer basking in the glory of Akhanda. Kalyan says he has not planned his life and would like to take things as they come following his heart.
