K Vishwanath the man who gave Shankarabharanam to the World is celebrating his birthday today. He has retired from films and not making any movies these days.
He even turned down the offer of Telangana CM KCR who offered to produce a film for the great director. KCR met Vishwanath at his house and appreciated all the work that he has done for the Tollywood.
Vishwanath is one director who made films depicting the Indian culture and also traditions from time to time. The director was born in Repalle in 1930 and started his career as a sound engineer.
He was encouraged by Akkineni Nageshwar Rao through Annapurna Studios into direction. From there was no looking back. Most of his films were superduper hits.
Vishwanath worked with Kamal Hasan, Chiranjeevi and other gave them all time hits. There were always a number of producers waiting for the dates of the super director, but he liked only what he did.
He never compromised for the sake of TRP. He only did what he wanted to do and never bothered about the commercial values of the movie. Never deviated from the script and the belief that he had over his writing.
But there are very few directors who followed him or could copy him. Only directors like Bapu and Ramana can be compared with Vishwanath. But Vishwanath said that he wanted to work under Bapu for some time.
