Like getting the darshan of Lord Balaji, purchasing the Laddu is also very important at the TTD for the Pilgrims. Earlier getting Laddu was difficult and was sold in black also.

But now you can take any number of Laddus sweets across the Counter. There was a talk of underweight Laddus being sold from the TTD counter, but now the issue has been resolved.

The sale of Tirupati laddu Prasadam in jute bags instead of plastic covers since last year has earned a popular response from pilgrims.

After banning the use of plastic bottles and plastic carry bags at Tirumala as an eco-friendly initiative, the TTD has been pondering replacing the popular laddu bags as well.

As part of this environment-friendly initiative by TTD, the Jute Corporation of India came forward with a design for laddu bags, which got a good response from devotees in view of its convenience and quality.

The cost of the jute bags varies with the number of laddus it holds viz. Five laddus holding bag pricing Rs. 25, ten laddu bags at Rs.30, 15 laddus capacity bag at Rs.35 and 25 laddus bag costing Rs.55.

Devotees are also expressing their immense satisfaction with the TTD initiative to sell jute bags. The Laddu rate was doubled but the demand continues. The Board members of the TTD under the leadership of Subba Reddy must concentrate on developing the quality of Laddu with a good aroma like the earlier times.

There is a talk that the supplier of Drfruits to Lord Balaji has earned crores of money. Even the hair contractors are crorepatis. The income of the Lord in the form of Hundi collections is going up, but the amenities are coming down.
