Yes Janaki , sang first for Mahesh Babu. This is what she told when she met top director Dasari Narayana Rao in a function to remember song writer Veturi Sandara Rammurthy. This was with the popular music director Koti by her side. She said that Veturi was one man who could write anything and everything for all kinds of tunes and music directors and singers.
Janaki recalling her association with the music directors she sang for Mahesh Babu when he was a child artist for Dasaris movie. She told the audience that she never asked for a song or an opportunity with any of the music directors. She did not learn music formally and it was god gift that she sang for so many great music directors.
She described that S Janaki means Yes Janaki and never said no to any of the tunes proposed by the music directors. She started at a young age from Rajahmundry and then went on singing till the recent times. Veturis wife Seethamma was also on the stage where Janaki hugged and took the blessings. Koti also touched the feet of Janaki called her amma and took her blessings.
Janaki said that they catered to the needs of the producers and the music directors and never had any tantrums. They obliged the music directors all the time and never refused them. She said the writers and the singers thought it was their duty to obey them for the work and get the payment.
She remembered that Veturi used to come up with songs In no time. She said if he was convinced he never wrote it again or changed it. If he was not happy then he would make some changes here and there.
