BJP MP Vinay Katiyar has yet again claimed history to be different, this time citing Jama Masjid in national capital Delhi.
Earlier he said that Agras Taj Mahal was a Shiva Temple, Katiyar has now said that Jama Masjid was originally Jamuna Devi Temple. He also said that the Mughal emperors brought down at least 6,000 structures.
Delhi’s Jama Masjid was originally Jamuna Devi temple, similarly, Taj Mahal was Tejo Mahalaya,” Katiyar said as quoted by a news agency.
Katiyar had said the Taj Mahal is full of symbols of Hindu gods and goddesses. Katiyar had said that inside the Taj, used to be a Shiv Linga, a phallic statue which symbolises Hindu god Shiva, on which water used to drip from the roof, but this was later replaced by the Mughals with a Mazaar.
