Baahubali has collected Rs 700 crore at Box office and is full till next two weeks it is reported. Now the director Rajamouli is being asked about his Hollywood dreams. But out Jakkanna is not in a hury. Asked if he aspires to make a Hollywood film, he said he wasn’t sure. He added that he would like to make Indian stories for the world to see.
Even if a Hollywood opportunity comes knocking at his door, he said he will have his reservations. He also said he likes to work on India stories because he is well-versed with them. He was also asked about the violence in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and if he feels it had to be done down to not get caught in censorship woes.
“Indian epics are full of violence and such stories have shaped India. As filmmakers, I don’t think anyone in India, would tone down violence keeping in mind the censorship.”
Post the phenomenal success of Baahubali franchise, it is quite natural to believe that SS Rajamouli can be Hollywood-bound.
However, the Makkhi filmmaker says he has his own reservations about working in Hollywood, even if the doors are opened for him. In a Facebook live chat with BBC, he opened up on his Hollywood dreams. Why should he go to Hollywood, when he can dub the Telugu movie in all the languages and release it any part of the world.
