Demand for clay Ganeshas are going up every year. Thanks to the efforts of the environmentalists and also NGOs who are educating the public in general to protect the environment. The Telangana State Government is also trying its best to save Hussainsagar from getting polluted. KTR the working President of the TRS party has already requested the people to save the environment from pollution by using clay Ganapathi’s.

Former Minister Harish Rao has decided that there will be one Ganesha per village in Siddipet and they will be clay Ganeshas only.

Like every year there is a controversy on the size of Ganesha idols apart from the Nimajjan process. But the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi leaders said that the procession and the immersion process of Ganesha will go as it is and there is no change.The procession will go to Tankbund for the sake of Nimajjan.

The congested bylanes of the Mangalhat are busy with the Ganesh idol making the process and the city is gearing up to welcome Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.

The Lodha families, who work on clay and also plaster of paris, have a good reason to be hopeful this year. More than ever before, the demand for clay Ganeshas has reached a peak in the city and the makers in the city are working overtime with a shifting preference from plaster of Paris idols to eco-friendly ones in some parts of city.

“This year we have made three times the number of small-sized clay Ganeshas as compared to last year said one of the regular makers of the idols.

At some places, we could see Idol makers colouring the old Ganesh idols of last year. Most of the lanes and bylanes in Mangahal are filled with Ganesahas of various sizes, shapes and forms. The children of the makers are seen giving finishing touches to the images.

The police, on the other hand, are gearing up for the bundobust of Ganesh Chaturthi here in Hyderabad. The Khairatabad Ganesha is also getting ready and the change is that this idol shall be the first one to be immersed in lake waters.

Drone technology is being used to find the depth of water for the huge Ganeshas immersion.

According to market estimates, the demand for clay Ganesha images has touched a peak this year as against one lakh last year. Several organisations in the city have stepped up their campaigns for eco-friendly festivities by conducting workshops at educational institutions.
Some sweet shops and NGOs are giving clay Ganeshas in small sizes at free of cost. Some of them are selling for Rs 11.
