Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to come to Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthnam on 9nth. The program is yet to be confirmed. But more or less Modi has decided to pay his respects to Lord Balaji on TTD as he has won with a resounding victory in the country. As part of the protocol, the Chief Minister of AP Jagan Mohan Reddy along with Governor Narasimhan has decided to accompany the Prime Minister during the darshan. It is expected that Jagan might have talks with the Prime Minister over the special status to Andhra Pradesh in this context.
It may be recalled that Modi has promised the special status earlier while he was addressing a meeting at Tirupati in 2014 along with the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.
But later they said that the centre will give a special package and not special status as such. Chandrababu first agreed and then made a U turn for political reasons. Babu was trounced miserably by the people in the state in the recent elections.Jagan who met the PM in Delhi earlier after becoming the CM impressed upon him over the matter of special status to AP. But now he is all set to take up the matter again with Prime Minister Modi when he would be in TTD.
Meanwhile, the appointment of a new Chairman and board members is pending. The chairman and some members have decided not to resign on their own. Some members have already resigned. YV Subba Reddy the close confidant of Jagan is expected to be the next Chairman for the TTD and a member from Telangana would also be appointed to the board.
