The state Government is busy with the arrangements being done for the inauguration of the Kaleshwaram project here in Telangana.
Chief Minister KCR and other Ministers are overseeing the works. It is being done like a big festival.
When it comes to the implementation of the project,It’s not easy to lift Godavari waters from Medigadda to Sriramsagar with just pumps and motors. The pumps and motors must have enough power for them to function. The Government has made special arrangements for the same. The project requires 4627 megawatts of power.
For this requirement, 6 substations with 400 kilowatts and 8 substations with 220 Kilowatts and 4 substations with 132 KV one station with 33 KV were set up. In this format, 19 new substations were erected for the project here in Telangana.A substation was built in the Underground also. There is no substation like this when you see across the world.
This is done in the package 6. It is a 400 KV substation. It required around 400 acres of land for this substation if it is to be built on the surface of the land. With the help of Gas insulated technology this substation was built in just 27 hours, it is learnt. The package 6 is powered by this substation.
Kaleshwaram Project will become the care of address for wonders of Engineering. There are tunnels to the extent of 203 kilometres in this project. Engineers have created a new world by digging the boulders in the deep.
The package 6, 7,8, and 12 are engineering marvels of the Kaleswaram project and they all are tunnel works. The tunnel constructions are the highlight of these projects. There is no other site in the world where water is supplied through so many tunnels. Kaleshwaram project can be said as one and only project in the world with so many unique features.
