Is BJP scared  Didi in West Bengal? The answer is yes. But fear not in the case of the results of Assembly elections. It is pertaining to the case of the Durgapur Steel Plant. It is a known fact that the Center has already decided to privatize or shut down the steel sector in the public sector of the country.

The Narendra Modi government has decided to privatize the Vizag Steel plant as part of the new policy. It has also decided to close the plant if privatization is not possible.

Suspense is running high as to which of the above two methods the centre is going to implement. It does not matter how many concerns and agitation sare going on in Vizag over the central decision.

The Center has temporarily postponed its decision on the Durgapur steel plant. In the case of Salem Steel in Tamil Nadu, Bhadravati in Karnataka and Durgapur Steel Factories in Bengal, either of the above two methods is expected to be implemented.

The Center has decided to hand over the steel factory in Bhadravati to private owners. Employees and workers there have been protesting for four years. The deadline for selling the steel factory in Salem is March 31. It also decided to close if it could not sell the steel plant.

Nilachal Steel Factory in Odisha has been closed. Even the salaries of the employees and workers there are skyrocketing. What remains is the Durgapur factory. However, the decision was postponed due to the upcoming elections in Bengal. Narendra Modi fears that selling or closing Durgapur Steels right before the polls will have an impact on the polls.

Modi and Amit Shah took the victory in the original Bengal as a prestige issue. The BJP has been after Mamata Banerjee in many ways but she is also facing them just as boldly. At the same time, the survey revealed that Mamata’s hat-trick was certain.

With that, the Center postponed their ‘private’ decisions pertaining to Bengal. What it all means here is that if the BJP wins , it is certain that Modi will implement his decision in the case of Durgapur plant.
