The reservoirs are full, but the supply is the same like the summer. The water Board has not increased the water supply to the residents of the twin cities, even after the inflows are full in the supply reservoirs.
The CM should review on the water supply and try to give water on a daily basis if not for 24 hours as promised earlier by the BRS Government. The HMWS&SB draws water from Nagarjuna Sagar, Yellampally,Manjeera and Singur reservoirs in addition to the twin reservoirs –Osaman Sagar and Himayat Sagar.
The HMWS&SB in fear of water scarcity had made an emergency pumping arrangement at Nagarjuna Sagar after a period of seven years during April this year.
Pumping arrangements are also in place at Sripada Yellampally too, however, the need to pump water to the city will not arise due to good inflows into the Krishna basin and copious inflows being expected in Godavari basin in coming days.
However inflows have given hope that there will be no water issue or scarcity in the coming days. Artificial scarcity is being created by the linemen who monitor the water supply across the city .
The in-charges of the water supply must give directions for improved water supply in the twin cities soon.
