India levelled the four match series, thanks to wonderful performances from R Ashwin , Pujara and Rahane in the second innings. This morning when India looked like getting a big lead, Starc and Hazlewood bowled beautifully to wrap up the Indian innings.
They didn’t allow the home team lead get past 200. So the Australians required 188, which was not easy on this wicket . The wicket continued to keep low and from one end the ball turned viciously. The Aussies lost wickets at regular intervals after they were off to a reasonably good start.Smith batted confidenty, while Handcomb did didn’t get suport from the tailenders.
With two matches to go now, the pressure is back on the tourists. Ashwin was on song. He bowled a long spell, doing justice to his captains faith. The last two matches will be played on two more new venues and it’s difficult to predict the nature of the wickets.
