Kings XI Punjabwill take o Royal Challengers Bengalore tonight at Chinnaswamy stadium, in a match which will decide their playoff berth chances. If they win their last four place will be alive. They will be missing the services of Eion Morgan from today as the Englishman had to join the England squad.
Kings XI overcame RCB in their first encounter this year at Indore, despite AB Devilliers brilliant performance. Today they should be putting everything into the game to win this important game to strengthen their chances.
Glen Maxwell knows it is never easy to beat a team like RCB though they have been disappointing in
this year’s competition. But Kings XI have really played good game of cricket, thanks to Hashim Amal’s super performance this year.
For RCB, their bowlers have done a good job, but the prime batsmen have not shown consistency, including their skipper Virat Kohli. Gayle not being hundred percent fit has also caused them a bit of concern, while Travis Head and Shane Watson have cut a sorry figure, not living upto the expectation. Only Yajuvendra Chahal and Arvind have bowled well for them and from today they will be missing Mills.
In yesterday’s match, Rishab Pant and Sanju Samson played fantastic knocks to help their side score a vital win and keep their hopes alive. First Delhi Daredevils captain Karun Nanir won the toss and put Gujrat Lion s in to bat. And the Lions put up a 200 pus total on a flat batting wicket. Suresh Raina and Dinesh Kartik were at their best, scoring runs freely.
Chasing the huge total, DD lost Nair early, but Samson and Pant hammered the Lions bowlers scoring fine half centuries. Pant in fact missed a chance of scoring a century as he got out for 97.
With this win Delhi can try for a playoff berth, provided they win the remaining matches.
