It has been a really disappointing show by Delhi Daredevils this year and if they lose to Sunrisers Hyderabad today it will be all over for them. They really were off to a good start and the way they were playing it seemed they would be in the race for playoffs quite comfortably. But they have lost four matches consecutively now and have to really work hard if they dream of making it to the last stage.
They might be missing their captain Zaheer Khan today as well as he has not yet totally recovered from the injury he suffered during the match against KKR a couple of days ago. He had to miss the last match too and Karun Nair led the side. But they were shot out for just 67, with none of their batsmen playing well.
The good news for them now is they can have the services of Merwin Samuels from today, who arrived on the eve of the Kings XI match. They have a fantastic bowling side, but their batting except Sanju Samson has really cut a sorry figure.
On the other hand Sun Risers Hyderabad are in the third position at the moment, but they cant relax until their playoff berth is confirmed. For SRH captain Warner has really been terrific form and whoever they tried as far as the overseas players are concerned have given good results. If Kane Williamson continues to give the same support Warner can be a little relaxed today.’
In the yesterday’s matches Pune Supergaint scored a thrilling win over GuJrat Lions, thanks to a magnificent century by Ben Stokes. Chasing 160 plus they were losing wickets regularly, but Stokes really was at his best yesterday.
In the other match Mumbai Indians also scored a narrow win over Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are now almost out of the tournament.
