People in Hyderabad used to wait for the rain so that the Gandipet reservoir gets filled and they will not have any water problems during the summers. But now they are saying Rain Rain please go away.
Due to heavy rains, the city is already in the water. Like the last year, some people in low lying areas have already vacated and going to other areas for safety.
As per the forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, the city will witness light to moderate showers at isolated places. Dr K Nagaratna, Director of IMD, Hyderabad, said, “While there will be heavy rains in other parts of Telangana, the city will only experience light to moderate showers. However, according to the trend we are noticing now, the rains might pick up again after July 19.”
The TSDPS has also forecasted heavy rains in the city for the next two days. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to be around 28 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature will range between 20 and 22 degree Celsius.
Several districts of Telangana, including Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Yadadri-Bhongir, Jangaon, Rajanna Sircilla and Jagtial also received heavy rainfall. Chegunta in Medak received the highest rainfall of 227.5 mm.
