Hyderabad tops the list of Tax Defaulters in the country. 25 out of total 96 tax defaulters in the country are from Hyderabad itself.
Ahmedabad holds the second position with 20 tax defaulters. If the amount is considered, Mumbai & Navi Mumbai are at the top of the table.
About 1,980 Tax Defaulters have been identified in the country. They were supposed to pay Rs 3,614 crore of Tax.
A Tax Official said that it is not possible to recover the tax from any of the parties identified as defaulters.
While 69 tax defaulters weren’t traced yet, 24 people have officially declared they are unable to pay the taxes.
