People from the city of Hyderabad have moved to rural Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the Sankranthi.

While the Highway roads are busy, the regular roads are empty wearing a deserted look.

On the other hand, bumper-to-bumper traffic was witnessed at the toll plazas lst night at Panthangi and Korlapahad on NH 65 as GMR authorities took special measures to avoid a traffic jam.

In addition to toll collection booths, the staff of toll plazas were collecting the toll through handheld machines from vehicles that did not have the FASTag solution.

The bus depos and the Railway stations were filled to the brim. The private transport operators made a killing for the festival season.

Given the rush of vehicles, 10 out of the total 14 toll gates were allocated for vehicles heading to Vijayawada from the Hyderabad side.

The police were making efforts to clear the traffic snarl at Choutuppal on NH 65. The traditional sweet shops and snack shops were also busy.

Palli patti, Nuvvuladu, Murkulu and Sakinalu were being purchased by the people. Parcels of these items were also sent to US and other countries to the near and dear.
