Hyderabad is fast developing and the night culture is also growing. The area around Charminar is busy even after midnight ever since it has been pedestrianised and the traffic was diverted.
It is almost moving forward on the lines of Mumbai where people say Mumbai never sleeps.
The Bar and Restaurants in the city are open from back door even after midnight. While there is a check for drunken driving n Saturdays, the government has decided that the bars will be allowed to serve booze till 1 AM in the night on Friday and Saturday.
Serving liquor late in the night is OK, but what about the checking for drunk and drive is the question. The IT people working in Hyderabad who are from different parts of the country would like to have late night weekends and looking at the potential the Government has increased the timings of the bar and restaurants.
All the bar and Restaurants in Greater Hyderabad and ORR that is Outer Ring Road limits are allowed to be open till 1 AM. Earlier it was till 12 AM. This will help the government to get more coffers. Liquor sales is one of the prime revenue maker for the Government.
