The Rachakonda police organized a Mega Traffic Awareness programme on the occasion of the 30th Road Safety Week at Saroornagar Indoor Stadium on Monday, February 04 – 2019.
Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali was the Chief Guest for the function. T Krishna Prasad, IPS, Director General Telangana Road Safety Authority, Sri. Jitender IPS Addl. DG l&O T.S, Commissioner of Police Rachakonda Sri. Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, IPS, DCP LB Nagar Zone Sri. Sanpreeth Singh IPS, DCP Traffic Sri. N. Divya Charan Rao, Addl. DCP Traffic-I Md. Tajuddin Ahmed, Sri. Krishna Yedula of SCSC Traffic Forum, VEnkat Naveen V.P Harsha Toyota, Sreedhar from Tata Aerospace and the Special guest Cine actor Kalyanram and others participated in the program.
The programme commenced with a motorcycle rally. Wherein the Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, T Krishna Prasad, IPS, Director General Telangana Road Safety Authority, Jitender IPS Addl. DG l&O T.S, Commissioner Rachakonda Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, IPS and Cine actor Sri. Kalyanram and other officers took part wearing helmets. The rally was huge wherein, all the participants wore helmets to give a message to the people.
A pictorial exhibition was inaugurated at the venue by the Home Minister Sri. Mohammed Mahmood Ali and it has attracted the participants, finally, every picture has given a message to follow traffic laws.
T Krishna Prasad, IPS, Director General Telangana State Road Safety Authority administered an oath to follow traffic laws, He said that several measures are being taken including rectification of faulty roads, identification of Black spots, survey of bad roads along with various stakeholders with a view to rectifying them, besides creating awareness in public about traffic and Road Safety Rules.
Addl. DGP L&O T.S Sri. Jitender IPS said that Hassel free living, Dignity of individuals, Consistency & Reliability in the delivery of Police services, sense of Safety & Security, Citizen friendly Police stations taken as priority. People should follow Traffic laws since the city has more population and every day about 4 lakhs vehicles move in the city.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sri. Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwath, IPS, said that the drunken driving awareness programmes and de-addiction programmes in Rachakonda being taken up by the professional counselors. As a result of the professional approach, the cases of repeaters has significantly low in Rachakonda. Only two percent of the people are caught for the second time for the drunken driving violation.
On the occasion Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said that the Telangana police are taking up several measures to improve road safety mechanism on par with the developed countries like UK & USA. The Telangana police are more focused on the Road safety and Transport Efficiency, Reduce travel time, Ensure compliance of law by citizens. He also said that Non-contact traffic enforcement was introduced to avoid unnecessary delay and disturbance to the public.
Kalyan Ram, Cine Actor and son of late Tollywood Actor Harikrishna, said that the public should realize the importance of following traffic rules. He said that people from various sections of the society shall come together to spread the message of road safety and the importance of Traffic laws.
