Yadadri the temple town witnessed unprecedented crowds on Sunday on account of Vaikunata Ekadasi. Serpentine queues were noticed in front of the temple town with devotees patiently waiting for Lords darshanam. It took about 4 to 6 hours for the devotees to have free darshanam and more than an hour for the special darshanam.
As temple development works were underway, providing drinking water to the multitudes became a difficult task for the officials. Citing security reasons, the police did not allow vehicles atop the Yadadri hill. Parking facility was provided near cottages located at the foot of the hill.
Earlier Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the officials of Yadadri Development Authority (YDA) to complete the temple development works by next year Dasara. The chief minister gave his approval for final designs of the temple, 108-feet Anjaneya Swamy idol and other works.
It may be recalled that the TRS Government under the dynamic leadership of KCR had taken up development of the Yadagirigutta hill shrine last year and started works a few months ago.
The chief minister reviewed the progress of works with YDA officials and said Yadadri would become a magnificent structure with five Rajagopurams. He said as many as 500 sculptors were engaged in the work.
The chief minister KCR said temperatures on the hill would come down by four to five degree Celsius once the green cover around the hill shrine was completed. He expressed happiness for the overwhelming response from corporates for construction of cottages in 250 acres of the temple authority land.
KCR said sculptors from China expressed their willingness in making 108-feet Anjaneya Swamy idol. Temple architect and temple committee members would soon visit China and handover the model of Anjaneya Swamy idol to them.
