Heavy rains lashed out some parts of Hyderabad today in the evening. The rain came in the mid-summer and the temperatures have come down to a larger extent. Some trees were uprooted and the traffic came to stand still in Hyderabad. The power supply was disrupted in some areas and some localities were inundated with rainwater.
Banjarahills, Jubileehills, Khairatabad, Musheerabad and others received good rain. The sky turned dark by 4 pm in the evening and the commuters had a bit of difficulty in going out. Winds also lashed out in many parts of the city.
The local met was giving the rain prediction since last two days but finally, it rained cats and dogs today changing the atmosphere and giving a whiff of cool air.
Himayathnagar, Narayan Guda and some parts of Musheerabad received heavy rail and some nalas in the area overflowed one or two retaining walls collapsed.
The GHMC staff had a tough time in draining the stormwater. All the low lying areas were inundated with rainwater.
