Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya has said that Haryana will be the first state in the country to fully implement the National Education Policy-2020 by 2025. Shri Dattatraya was discussing the development schemes being implemented in the state during his courtesy meeting with President Shri Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi on Monday. Shri Dattatraya also made a courtesy call on Vice President Shri M Venkaiah Naidu today.
He said that all kinds of infrastructural facilities have been made available in all educational institutions of the state in sync with the National Education Policy-2020. During the meeting, he informed that the universities of the state have introduced quality and employment oriented courses for the students. The country’s first of its kind ‘Shri Vishwakarma Skill Development University’ has also been established in Haryana.
Dattatraya said the Central government has the target to implement the National Education Policy by 2030 but Haryana aims to implement NEP-2020 by 2025 itself. He said the work is on to impart education from KG to PG in a single campus in the state. To provide facilities on the lines of private schools, 138 new Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools have been opened in the state. The state has also established 1418 Government Model Culture Primary Schools as Centres of Excellence.
The Governor-Chancellor said that incubation centres have been set up in all the universities of the state. The incubation centres have also been successfully set up in the government colleges of five districts as well. This year incubation centres will be set up in other 17 districts, said Shri Dattatraya.
Giving information about the anti-Covid vaccination, Shri Dattatraya said that the Corbevax vaccination campaign for children in the age group of 12 to 14 years was started by him on March 16, while the normal Covid-19 vaccination drive is going on successfully. More than four crore 16 lakh anti-coronavirus doses of vaccines have been given so far.
So far, more than 2.5 lakh booster doses of anti-Covid vaccine have been given to the people above 60 years of age in the state. He said that the vaccination work in Haryana has progressed beyond the national average. As a result, the state has been able to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
On women empowerment and their security programmes, Shri Dattatraya said that in the financial year 2021-22, 3884 self-help groups were provided with a revolving fund of Rs 3.88 crore in the state. The rate of subsidy under the Personal Loan Scheme for Women has been increased from 10 per cent to 25 per cent.
Under the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program, 1238 self-help group women enterprises have been formed and financial assistance of Rs 5 crore 25 lakh has been given to them for setting up their enterprise.
Shri Dattatraya said that the state government is committed to providing a safe environment to women as well as empowering them economically, socially and politically. It has been decided to give 50 per cent representation to women in the upcoming elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions. Today, women in Haryana are bringing laurels not only to the state but to the country by marching ahead in every field.
