Guv talks to Kovind & Venkaiah

The President, along with the Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu, today held a video-conference today (April 3, 2020) with the Governors, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of States/UTs and discussed ways to contribute to the measures taken by the Government of India and the State Governments in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The President emphasized the need to ensure that no one remains hungry during the nationwide lockdown.

She further informed that,

-Invoked Epidemic Disease Act from 20th March 2020 (GO No 13).

-SoPs on Hospital Management, Clinical Management etc have been developed with the support of Central Govt Guidelines and WHO.

-State has allocated Rs 457.75 Crores budget for COVID.

Positive Cases in TelanganaAs on today,

-152 positive cases are reported.

-9 deaths have occurred in the state.

-Home Quarantine: 26,586 persons who have history of foreign travel and their contacts are kept under home quarantine.

-19364 have completed home quarantine till to date and 7222 are still in quarantine.

-By seventh of April all will be completing home quarantine.

-6 labs have been set up in Government Hospitals (i) Gandhi Medical College (ii) Osmania Medical College (iii) Fever Hospital and (iv) Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (v) CCMB (vi) Institute of Preventive Medicine.

-So far 2400 samples have been tested and 152 are found to be positive.

-Total 31 Hospitals with 12,500 beds (11,000 isolation beds & 1,500 ICU beds) have been established for clinical management.

Total 1000 persons have been Identified and 925 persons have been traced (92%). 79 Cases were found positive. 435 Persons are in Home Quarantine and 365 are in Govt Quarantine. Total deaths are 9.

The Governor extolled doctors and health workers for serving people in face of grave risk and displaying exemplary courage and conviction.

In this regard she has written a personal letter to all the doctors appreciating and thanking their commitment as first line Corona warriors to wipe out Covid-19 from our State and Nation.
