The local authorities and the Government of Vadodara have banned the sale of panipuris or gupchups stating health reasons. It was reported that some of the sellers were using chemicals in the water leading to health hazards. The puris were also made in unhygienic conditions and that the health of the people is in danger in this monsoon season.
The people have been advised not go for the panipuris and the water added with chemicals. Majority of the shops and roadside eateries of the panipuris have been closed and they were destroyed and thrown in the bin.
The makers of the panipuris were also raided and their small shops were closed as they were being made in unhygienic conditions.
Panipuri is a delicacy where people from all sections of the society love it. Even film stars go out to have these puchkas with water in different flavours and tastes. But if they are not hygienic you will have all sorts of issues like stomach ache, dysentery, indigestion so on and so forth.
