GHMC provided free food to 1,56,350 persons through 342 Annapurna canteens today. Donors, NGOs and other Organizations also generously donating food and other essential items to the GHMC monitoring wing. GHMC distributed 6,44,300 food packets till now to the needy through Annapurna Mobile vehicles by coordinating with 692 donors.
Further 10,94,200 food packets distributed so far to the needy by the donors under GHMC supervision. H.W.Mayor Sri Bonthu Rammohan monitoring regularly the distribution of food through Annapurna canteens and essential items given by the donors.
As per the instructions given by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K. Chandra Shekar Rao and Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD Sri K.T. Rama Rao that no one goes hungry, GHMC provided food to the needy i.e., migrant workers, poor people, students, orphans through 342 Annapurna Canteens. A part from regularly Annapurna Canteens temporary canteens also opened and distributed food to 1,56,350 on Monday i.e., 04.05.2020.
Till now food distributed to 41,48,000 persons through Annapurna Canteens during lockdown period. 692 donors arranged 6,44,300 food packets and they were distributed to the needy through GHMC mobile vehicles.
The Monitoring wing received and distributed to the needy i.e., Rice about 520 metric tons, 2,864 ration kits, 60,000 biscuits and cakes, 4,500 litres of oil, 2500 litres of floor cleaner, 3,100 gloves, 33,000 masks, 4,500kgs wheat flour, 5,600 oats packets,1,364 PPE Kits, 5,550 Sanitizer bottles, 7,500 litres of Sanitizer cans,30 metric tons of water melon fruits given by donors.
