Green India Challenge was launched with an aim to improve green cover and protect the environment from various pollutants, stepped into its 4th year. Ever since it was launched Green India Challenged roped in celebrities, politicians, environmentalists, general public alike from across the globe and has been working relentlessly towards planting saplings, adopting and conserving forests, natural resources, encouraging organic farming, creating awareness on the importance of pollutant free environment for our next generations etc.

The founder of this noble challenge, Shri J Santosh Kumar, MP, Rajya Sabha is deeply committed to this noble cause and has been urging, encouraging everybody to be a part of this great cause and do their bit for the mother planet. In February, this year Green India Challenge on the occasion of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao garu’s birthday successfully planted 1 crore saplings (Koti Vruksharchana) across India and in many other countries abroad. All the saplings have now grown into small trees, some bearing flowers, fruits and even housing beautiful bird nests.

Inspired by Koti Vruksharchana, Green India Challenge is proposing another mammoth task, this time targeting a world record by planting one million plantations in an hour. Termed as One Million Plantation in One Hour, this will be launched on the 58th birthday of former minister and TRS MLA Shri Jogu Ramanna’s 58th birthday on July 4, in Adilabad, Telangana, India. Shri J Santosh Kumar will attend the program as its Chief Guest.

Under this new challenge, the teams are set to break the record of planting 3 lakh, 3 thousand saplings in Turkey in 2019 and found space in Guinness Book World Records. To make this program a huge success, preparations are in place in Adilabad district’s Bela mandal where 2 lakh plants have been arranged. In the urban region 1,80,000 plantations will be done in more than 45,000 houses, 1,20,000 saplings on either side of R & B roads, 5,00,000 plants in 200 acres of degenerated forest area similar to Miyawaki model and more than 25,000 saplings by TRS cadre and public of Adilabad district.

“Mother Nature is where our survival is completely dependant upon. Corona has caused immense damage to the environment and we learnt how important is to conserve our natural resources in the last two years. I urge everyone of you to be a part of Green India Challenge. Join hands by planting three saplings and nominating three others to take this forward,” said Shri J Santosh Kumar.
