A lot has happended before the release of GPS. But Krish and Balaiah Babu kept quite. They wanted the Movie to talk and make all the hungama. They wanted the public to see and react. They know it is a sure hit.
If Telugu people in both the states want to know where they come from and who they are, they must know this history through Gautami Putra Sathakarni. Perhaps that is the precise reason that the Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao launched the movie. Gave tax exemption for the movie and getting ready to watch the movie GPS.
Even AP CM Chandrababu also reacted in the same manner and one must see this GPS for sake of Amaravathi and his history.
The global rights of Gautamiputra Satakarni have been sold for a whopping price of Rs 50 crore it is learnt. The movie will be on 1000 screens. The Telugu states are with house full boards already.
The theater owners have already opened the ticket booking and the movie has registered decent amount of advance booking for its opening day.It is real Sankranthi for Balakrishna fans after the Legend of Boyapati Seenu.
Considering its hungama, screen count and advance booking, Gautamiputra Satakarni is likely to collect Rs 15 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day of its release. The movie has been made tax-free in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where its expected to gross over Rs 10 crore on its opening day. The exemption of 15 percent tax would help the movie fetch decent share for its distributors.
GPS will definitely beat earlier records and become the biggest opener for both the actor and director. With Kanche, Krish created many paths and gave Telugu cinema a new direction. He continues his astonishing work by narrating a hard hitting and entertaining story of an unsung king in a thumping manner.
This is mega movie, there is no doubt about this. Films like these come very rarely and icing on the cake is the presence of Balakrishna who single-handedly dominates the proceedings with his towering performance.
Well-executed war scenes and grand visuals make this historical extravaganza a must watch for every Telugu film lover. The lighting effects are good.
Satakarni scores because of Balakrishna’s towering performance, Burra’s praiseworthy writing and Krish’s directorial brilliance. It is certainly a welcome change for film buffs amid routine masala fare. It is a one of its kind of cinematic experience that cannot be missed. Some more detailing into the costumes, sets and music would have given more impact. But 80 days is too short a time for this kind of movie. Well done Krish.
