Kumara Swamy Gowda is all set to take over Karnataka and not only that he would become the focal point for the formation of a federal front for taking on BJP in the next elections. Regional leaders like Mamatha, Maya, Chandrababu, KCR and others are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony in the noon.
Gowda has personally invited the Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for the swearing-in ceremony.
Tejashwi Yadav and Akhilesh may also attend the swearing-in ceremony it is reported. The stopping of BJP from forming the Government has bolstered the image of the opposition especially Rahul Gandhi. Rahul in a press meet directly attacked Prime Minister Modi that he is corrupt.
Perhaps this is the first time that Modi has to face the flak from the leader of the opposition. Mamatha the Bengal leader said that the if the Congress and JDS have fought the elections together they would have swept Karnataka easily and she stressed that there is a need for the unity of opposition.
In this context, one has to see if the TRS chief KCR would alter his stance of fighting against the Congress and BJP and limit himself to fighting against the BJP only. Majority of the leaders are of the opinion that fighting Modi without Congress becomes difficult and it has proved several times beyond doubt. There is a chance that the federal front might project Rahul as the next Prime Minister.
