Governor visits flood affected areas in BhadradriKothagudem

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday made a whirlwind tour of the flood-affected areas in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.

The Governor visited the shelter camps at Ashwapuram mandal in the district and interacted with the flood-affected people sheltered in relief camps.

She listened to the grievances of the displaced people at the shelter camps and listened to their grievances. Moved by their plight, the Governor assured them that she would take their grievances to the notice of the authorities concerned.

Braving the intermittent rains and the severe slushy and inundation conditions, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan visited the damaged houses and inundated paddy fields.

The Governor also distributed health kits, medicines, and tarpaulins to the flood victims mobilized by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and the Lions Club.

Hundreds of the displaced people camped at the shelter camps submitted representations to the Governor and the victims urged the Governor to interact with them all and listen to their woes.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has personally served the food to the victims at the Shelter Camp at Taringini Function Hall.

The Governor also interacted with the officials to know about the damage to the paddy fields and loss of property and livestock, and the number of people displaced or evacuated due to the inundation. She has also enquired about the potential flood situation and the spate of river Godavari.

Earlier, the Governor arrived in Manuguru early on Sunday morning by travelling overnight in a train from Secunderabad.

The Governor visited Pamulapally village in Ashwapuram Mandal of the Bhadradri-Kothagudem dist Later, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan visited the Shelter Camps set up at SKT Function Hall, Pamulapally, and Taringini Function Hall at Chintiryala Colony.

Relief teams from the IRCS and the medical teams from the ESIC Medical College accompanied the Governor to extend relief measures and to offer medical services to the people at the shelter camps and other inundated areas.

The Governor thanked and appreciated the team of doctors led by Dean Dr. Srinivas from the ESIC Medical College.
